NOTE
There are four knob assemblies on inside of shelter door. This procedure is typical for all
four.
Replace. (figure 4-8)

Unscrew knob (1) from retainer (2).
Drill out rivet (3) and remove knob assembly from retainer (2). Drill out rivet (4) and remove retainer
from door. (Refer to paragraph 3-9.a. for rivet removal instructions.)
NOTE
Anchor tab of knob assembly chain to side rivets on top retainers and bottom rivets on
bottom retainers.
Position retainer (2) on door and install one rivet (4). (Refer to paragraph 3-9.a. for rivet installation
instructions.)
Screw knob (1) into retainer (2) and into frame of emergency exit.
Position tab (5) of knob assembly chain over second rivet hole in retainer (2) and install rivet (3).
